Common questions

Do the entry and exit days count?

Yes. The day you enter and the day you leave the Schengen Area each count as a full day, even if you only spend a few hours there.

Does the 180-day period reset on a fixed date?

No. The 180-day window rolls forward every day. On any given day you look back over the previous 180 days and count every day spent in Schengen.

Is the calculator result official?

No. It is an estimate based on the dates you enter. The border authorities' own records, now kept by the EU Entry/Exit System, are what count at the border.
